RPR
Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®, (NAR) gives REALTORS® access to local market trends, prospecting, pricing tools and so much more. For every real estate situation, there’s an RPR solution.
🎯 The challenge
For real estate professionals, webinars are more than a nice-to-have—they’re a trusted way to get hands-on learning, stay up to date on tools, and sharpen their skills. That’s why RPR runs an extensive webinar program as a cornerstone of their engagement strategy—helping members see ongoing value in RPR with their NAR membership.
With a database spanning hundreds of thousands of agents, the team wanted to make sure every webinar did more than just fill virtual seats. They aimed to reach the right professionals at the right moment, keep them learning before and after the event, and turn each session into deeper adoption of the platform.
🏆 The solution
Aaron Flatt, RPR’s Vice President of Digital Marketing, turned to Appcues as the central driver for webinar registrations—using in-app pushes to cut through busy, unpredictable schedules. He paired those pushes with automated, in-product follow-ups to help agents apply what they learned, gamify their progress, and keep coming back for more.
👀 How they did it
1. Targeted invites based on behavior
Each webinar began with precise targeting. Using Appcues Slideouts, the team promoted sessions only to users whose actions suggested they’d be interested in the topic. Anyone who had recently seen another invite was excluded to avoid fatigue. And when an agent did click, their registration info was captured instantly through a custom event—converting attention into a signup without extra steps or friction.

2. Automated registration with Zapier
From there, automation kept things seamless. A single Zap:
- Registered the attendee within Zoom
- Sent their details to a Google Sheet for tracking
- Passed the event to Iterable for confirmation and reminder emails
This eliminated manual list uploads or missed registrants, giving the team confidence that every interested agent was registered, tracked, and ready for follow-up.

3. Kicked off learning with a Knowledge Check
The confirmation email didn’t just acknowledge registration—it invited agents to stay engaged immediately with a Knowledge Check CTA. By giving them something to do right away on a topic they already cared about, RPR tapped into fresh motivation and kept momentum high between sign-up and the live event.

4. Reinforced skills with in-product Checklists
Clicking through the Knowledge Check pulled agents into RPR itself, where a tailored Appcues Checklist guided them through related workflows. This bridged the gap between theory and practice, helping agents apply new skills directly in the product. The experience turned anticipation into action—making adoption stickier and more meaningful.

5. Gamified progress with badges
Completion unlocked an instant badge, awarded automatically via Zapier. That recognition created a sense of achievement while nudging agents to keep progressing. With plans to display badges inside RPR, these visible markers of expertise will act as both motivation and proof of progress—encouraging agents to continue their learning journey.

✅ Results
The impact was hard to miss:
- Scaled yearly webinar registrations from 25,000 to 180,000 (620%) over 10 years — averaging ~22% growth year over year since 2015
- 4,500 RSVPs a month on average, with 45–150 signups rolling in daily.
- In peak months, half of all active users registered for a webinar.
- Attendees proved highly valuable—80% more likely to become power users than non-attendees.
- Knowledge Checks kept momentum going, with 42.6% completion rates driving deeper product adoption.
Or as Aaron put it: “Our numbers skyrocketed.” 😎

Our hot take
RPR designed its webinar journey like a learning loop—not just an event. Each step was automated, intentional, and rooted in user psychology: spark interest, prompt immediate action, guide hands-on practice, and reward progress. The result? Webinars became an engine for adoption, building skills and keeping RPR at the center of an agent’s day-to-day work. Outstanding work, Aaron!
