Drive more sales conversations with Appcues + Calendly

Ecosystem intro:

Calendly is a scheduling tool that allows their customers to minimize friction when booking meetings of all kinds.

Think about it this way: you need to book a meeting over email. Either you can send multiple emails back and forth over a few days to narrow down availability; or you can send a link to your calendar to the other attendees, and they can choose a slot based on their own availability.

Sounds good, right? Now, imagine you’re a sales rep. You’re booking hundreds of meetings a quarter. Calendly saves you a boatload of time.

But what if...

Instead of booking meetings over email, you could send qualified trialers an experience in the product, asking them to book a meeting with their sales rep?

What metric will this impact?

Sales connect rate, trial to opportunity conversion, pipeline generation from trial.

As always, using your product instead of email comes with many benefits, the first of which being the use of a channel others can’t saturate. In-app messages convert 20% better on average than email. What would your new MRR look like if every sales rep boosted their trial to opportunity rate 20%?

What’s the formula?

First, you’ll use Calendly to make calendar links for each of your reps, specific to product campaigns. You’ll need to pass these to Appuces either as user properties, through your CRM, or via Zapier.

Second, you’ll create a segment in Appcues for trialers who have not yet booked a meeting with one of your sales reps.

You can choose when and where this content appears, for example, you may only want to show users this pattern after a set amount of time or after certain activities occur. You can also use information from your CRM to determine whether the user is a candidate.
Then, you’ll create Appcues patterns for each of these segments. Customize them to look native to your product and include personalization! Properties like first name, sales rep’s first name, and company name will help this pattern drive the best possible conversion.
